Brownsboro is home to many beautiful farms that provide the community with local, fresh food.  We hope you will take advantage of the wonderful resources all around us!  One opportunity is to take part in Community Supported Agriculture. Rootbound Farm is offering 2016 Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares for weekly pick-up at their farm in Crestwood (on Halls Hill Road).  They also offer several other convenient pick-ups in the Louisville area, including Norton Commons, so check out their website for complete information.  CSA Members will enjoy a weekly basket of fresh Certified Organic produce from the farm in Crestwood from June through October.  You’ll be amazed by the quality when you enjoy all of your favorite veggies harvested the same day as your delivery.  There’s no fresher way to enjoy local organic produce, and recipes and tips for storage are provided each week.  As a member of the Rootbound Farm CSA you’ll enjoy benefits such as farm tours and field days – a great opportunity for the whole family to develop a relationship with the folks who grow your food. There are a limited number of shares available so check out their website, www.rootboundfarm.com for more information. Do you have a farm or business you would like to promote through Brownsboro Alliance?  Send us an email!  Together we can renew and reconnect the economy, environment, and people of Brownsboro into a sustainable, innovative rural...

Rootbound Farm CSA 2015

Brownsboro is home to some wonderful farms, many that are committed to responsible farming and healing the earth.  We are pleased to announce another great CSA option in Brownsboro! Rootbound Farm is accepting new members for its 2015 shares of Community Supported Agriculture.   Ben Abell and Bree Pearsall have been farming for many years across America, but moved their farm to Brownsboro in 2014.  They practice biodynamic and chemical-free farming as they grow certified organic produce and raise Katahdin sheep. Located on Halls Hill Road, Rootbound Farm’s CSA pick-up is convenient to any of our readers in the Brownsboro area, and offers alternative pick-up locations around Louisville and Frankfort.  Ben and Bree also grow a wide-range of market crops for local restaurants and farmer’s market sales, in addition to their CSA program. Rootbound’s 2015 CSA rate is $528 ($24 per week) for a full share.  Payment plans and full-payment discounts are available.  Pick-up begins the week of June 1st and ends the week of October 26.  For more information or to sign up, please visit rootboundfarm.com.   There are a limited number of shares left for 2015, so sign up...
