Second Chances Wildlife Center is hosting their second annual fundraiser on Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Gingerwoods Event Hall on Rose Island Rd in Prospect.

The event showcases several species of wildlife babies, offering a rare opportunity to see these animals up close! Second Chances specializes in rehabilitating opossum babies, but accepts other mammal species as well, including bats, raccoons, and skunks. Each species holds a key to our ecosystem; through careful wildlife rehabilitation efforts, Second Chances provides subtle, yet critical environmental support to Oldham County, particularly the largely-agricultural Brownsboro community.

Much of the event’s focus will be wildlife, but this family-friendly event will also include face painting, a balloon artist, live music, food, raffles & prizes, “skunk pond,” and a silent auction! Admission per person is free with a donated item from the Second Chances website wish list OR a $5.00 donation at the door. Children under 2 are free.

Second Chances is a 501(c)(3) in Oldham County that provides wildlife rehabilitation and safe release of injured, displaced, or orphaned animals. Under the leadership of licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator Brigette Williams, Second Chances serves as a resource for wildlife information through phone calls, web pages, and education programs within our community.
