Thank you to all who participated in January’s “All About Brownsboro” quiz! If you answered that the Brownsboro Community Center was once a school, you are correct!
Prior to the Civil War, a one-room log schoolhouse served Brownsboro’s children on the corner of Highway 1694 and Highway 329. After the war, the school relocated and became known as the Brownsboro College. Today the old college building is the Brownsboro Community Center on Highway 329 and is the site of many community meetings, festivals, and private events.
If you would like to schedule an event at the Brownsboro Community Center, call Nancy Carol Thompson at: (502) 241-4728 for availability and other information. Also visit www.brownsborocommunitycenter.com online.
