Nearly 300 spectators and supporters joined us for the 2012 Annual Brownsboro Alliance Polo Cup. The rain didn’t stop the match, although a few showers throughout the afternoon made for a slippery field. During the final period, a rainbow appeared across the entire field, creating a beautiful backdrop to the fine polo played that day. Home team Brownsboro Polo won 6-5 over Crab Orchard Polo, and received a new perpetual trophy to be awarded year after year.
The BA Cup was featured in the sports section of the Oldham Era. In the article, our Executive Director Cathy Roberts remarked that everyone was “out there to support the community of Brownsboro and they showed what Brownsboro is about with the quality of horses they have there and the beauty of the horse farm.” Read the article with a paid or trial subscription to the Oldham Era online.
We have posted several pictures of the match on our Facebook page. More photos will be available soon are available here!
Many thanks to Dinwiddie and Irene Lampton, George and Beverly Rawlings, Brown-Forman, and Joe Burch & JazzCrafters for their special contributions and sponsorship of this event.
