On May 9, we are looking forward to partnering with Tavia Cathcart Brown on a trail event featuring wildflower identification! Co-author of Wildflowers of Tennessee, The Ohio Valley and The Southern Appalachians, Tavia is the Executive Director of the Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve in Oldham County, where they frequently host many fascinating events on native plants and animals in our area. We will be sending out more information on our Wildflower Walk very soon.
In the meantime, the next event at Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve will feature Ravishing Raptors:
On Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve has invited Raptor Rehabilitation of Kentucky to bring some of their star birds! The special guest raptors might even include a live Golden Eagle, Peregrine Falcon, Great Horned Owl and Turkey Vulture. Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to learn about the grand birds in the sky. Instead of charging admission, they are encouraging our visitors to make a donation to help us pay for this program.
This event will be held at Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve – 12501 Harmony Landing Road, Goshen, KY 40026. For more information, call (502) 228-4362 or visit www.KYNaturePreserve.org.
Make sure to save the date for both of these interesting and informative events!
