We currently have three Eagle Scout candidates from the Boy Scouts of America Lincoln Heritage Council working on projects for the BATA trails. These young men are doing a great job, and have been a pleasure to work with. Read below about what they’re doing to enhance and improve your trail experience!

Thad Lipinski

Eagle Scout Candidate Thad Lipinski is building a pergola and swing for memorial honoring Ned Bonnie, founding visionary and landowner for the BATA trails and Oldham County Conservationism.

Kevin Schwecke

Eagle Scout Candidate Kevin Schwecke has completed a digital map of Phase I trails and is working on mile markers to be installed along the trail in 1/2 mile increments. Aluminum maps have been ordered to put at the trailhead and in the woodlands.

John Welch

Eagle Scout Candidate John Welch is working with a small group of scouts, parents, and local experts to identify trees and plants to be tagged along the trail. Each plant will have a customized web page containing its history, pictures, and other facts. These selected plants will then have a sign placed near them containing a QR code link to their page.
