With Thanksgiving only eight days away, families are stocking up on ingredients for the big meal.  In fact, it won’t be too long before you should start thawing your frozen turkey.  Thinking about serving a wild turkey?  Unless you already took a turkey earlier this fall, you may be too late for this year’s Thanksgiving.  Kentucky’s hunting laws exclude shotgun turkey hunting between November 2 and December 1.  However, archery and crossbow turkey hunting seasons are open through at least the end of the year.  Be sure to check the Department of Fish and Wildlife website for regulations and restrictions on turkey hunting in Kentucky.

If turkey isn’t your game, also check the website for other hunting seasons and their restrictions.  You can buy hunting licenses and permits online and print directly from the website.  You can also contact the Department of Fish and Wildlife by phone at 800-858-1549 for more information.
